Meet The Barber
ABOUT TARA MORGAN, THE BARBER:
In 2020, during the COVID lockdown, I found myself — like many others — reinventing my work and purpose. I combined my background in coaching, creative design, customer service for both kids and adults, cycling, and entrepreneurship to create C’Mon Barber on Vashon Island.
I’m Tara Morgan, also known as C’Mon Barber or “Barber Tara” with the kid clients. Originally from East Tennessee, I’ve called the Pacific Northwest home since 1994, after graduating from Ithaca College. Much of my career was spent in arts fundraising and coaching rowing, but barbering has always held a special place in my life. I adored my childhood barber, Ken, and have had quite a hair journey myself — from short cuts to perms to waist-length hair.
I began barbering as a way to help people feel cared for during lockdown. After a few months of learning through trial and error, I enrolled at Washington Beauty School in the fall of 2020. In those early days, I practiced by offering free haircuts to seniors and kids across the island, traveling by Rad e-bike with my barber kit strapped onboard.
I’m deeply grateful to the teachers, mentors, family, and especially the brave early clients who trusted me while I learned. Now, more than five years into the journey, it’s an honor to serve more than 1000 customers, especially my families, from my custom barber van parked at Country Store & Farm.
I hope you’ll join the community I’m proud to serve.
Based on beautiful Vashon Island - only a 15-minute ferry ride from Seattle or Tacoma.
We’ll see you here!
